UCSC participates in the 2018 Annual NNERPP Forum

The Urban Child Study Center (UCSC) is a member of the National Network of Education Research-Practice Partnerships (NNERPP). In July, UCSC, participated in the 2018 Annual NNERPP Forum in Portland, Oregon.  We traveled with several of our partners to participate in the forum, including Sydney Ahearn and Danielle Veal (Atlanta Public Schools), Hanah Goldberg (Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students), Miclyn Williams (YMCA of Metro Atlanta), Mike Davis (Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Centers), and Robert Gwaltney (Easter Seal of North Georgia). Together, we highlighted our research-practice partnership, Atlanta 323—a research alliance focused on Atlanta’s preschool to 3rd grade (P3) early childhood system. Atlanta 323 leverages existing activities and partnerships to focus on one of the critical stages in the evolution of a P3 system: developing the research infrastructure that will allow APS and its stakeholders to utilize data to inform programmatic, practice, and policy decisions. The NNERPP forum provided an opportunity to learn from and be engaged with other research-practice partnerships across the nation. Presently, the Urban Child Study Center is the only member of NNERPP in the state of Georgia.  Atlanta 323 is funded by generous support from the Institute of Education Sciences and the Spencer Foundation.
